Throughout both my spiritual journey and professional career I have been an avid reader. As an educator I appreciate the words of the celebrated Scottish historian and essayist, Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881): "What we become depends on what we read after all of the professors have finished with us."

My personal library is extensive and includes works of theology, philosophy, history, and science as well as great works of literature. One of my favorite ancient writers is Confucius (551-479 BCE), China's most famous teacher, philosopher, and political theorist. He says, "You cannot open a book without learning something."

So...

Below I have listed a selection of my all-time favorite books and resources that have helped me grow as a Christian and have formed the foundation of my teaching ministry. The few dollars investment to add these to your own collection will be dollars well spent!

Enjoy...
